The
Virtual Spa is a private, online "spa" that you
can visit and discover the magic of transforming stress to serenity
in 10 minutes or less and find many different ways to calm down your body
and mind. When you leave this serenity retreat, you will feel refreshed,
rejuvenated and refocused. I created this safe, nurturing, serenity retreat
because I saw the effect of stress as we lived our busy lifestyles. The
Virtual Spa was created as an antidote to stress; our prayer for
serenity. We were becoming busier, less happy, anxious and overwhelmed
as the stress of dealng with our family responsibilities, jobs and not
ourselves continued to escalate. I certainly was having that experience
in my own life with my nervous system on overload and my mind always busy!
I
became concerned about the effects of stress in my life and that of my
family and clients. From many years as a therapist I knew, if we continued
in this pattern of overload, we would eventually become sick -- mentally,
physically, or both. National Institutes of Health (NIH) studies show
that 85% of all disease is stress-related, which validated my growing
concerns about the disastrous effects of stress on my body and mind and
that of my clients. That was scary to me. However, as I learned how to
reduce stress and the stress response in a short time, more research
was surfacing. Studies showed that just taking 10 minutes to be
quiet on a regular basis reduces stress and has a huge positive impact
on our health and happiness. Now of course, the problem is how do we find
time, even 10 minutes, to destress and relax in our all-to-busy lives?
That is why I created The Virtual Spa: short, easy, online stress
management. It is the only online spa for busy people just like you and
me.
With
my experience as a therapist and Life Balance Coach, I realized the importance
of guiltless self-nurturing, as well as the value of a community
of like-minded people who could support one another. SerenityPathways™
and The Virtual Spa™ was birthed from a desire to create a place to meet
those needs -- a serenity retreat. SerenityPathways is a private space
to destress as well as a community of like-minded individuals. We can
